Blood Orangeade

Carbonated blood orange kombucha with bitters and orange peel garnish for a sophisticated flavor profile.

Ingredients
  • 1 blood orange
  • 2 cups unflavored kombucha
  • A few drops Angostura bitters
  • Orange peel twist, optional

Instructions

    Juice the blood orange and pour into the bottle.

    Top with kombucha leaving about 1/2 inch headspace, and seal.

  3. 3

    Let ferment 1 day at room temperature, then refrigerate.

  4. 4

    Serve cold with bitters and orange peel if desired.

Recipe Notes

  • Makes 1 bottle (16.5 oz each).
  • Use a citrus press or hand juicer and 16.5 oz bottle.
  • The bitters add depth and complexity to the citrus flavor.
